New Reports from the Countryside
Gerhard Lang’s Landscape Performances
with Slide Projectors
1993–2000

Gerhard Lang uses up to ten slide projectors to assemble landscapes in complex installations. The projection procedure employed has its own specific framework of laws, which Lang experiments with in his landscape laboratory.

In a further cycle, Lang created images of unknown areas using the mirroring system of an old identikit machine that was in the service of Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) until 1994. See Work: New Reports from the Countryside. Identkit Photographs of Landscapes created with the Identikit of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA)
